This program challenges students to raise their activity and fitness to the next level.
Based on research findings
The rules of the program are simple. The goal for students is to see how many points they can earn by staying active. Points are based on the amount of energy each activity burns. So the more active students are, the more points they'll get.
Making fitness fun
The Presidential Champions program lets participants choose all kinds of activities they like doing - whether it's at school or at home, alone or with friends and family.
Giving students a new challenge
Students who are already active at least 60 minutes a day can still find new challenges. We'll also help students set personal goals.
Tracking activities.
Our personal activity log makes it easy for students to track the time they spend on activities, right online. They can log time as often as they want, in amounts as short as 5 minutes. Students can't log time for activities they haven't done yet, but they can go back up to 7 days to enter past activities.
Use of Pedometers
The personal activity log allows students to record steps measured with a pedometer instead of minutes.
Earning awards.
When students reach a goal, their activity log will remind them that they've earned an award (medallions if we can afford them, ribbons if not). Then students can move on to the next challenge in the Presidential Champions program.
